Dr. Pou receives two awards for heroism, service
Dr. Anna Pou has been named recipient of two special awards that recognize
her for heroism during Hurricane Katrina at Memorial Hospital and for her
years of work and service at LSU's Health Sciences Center School of
Medicine.
Ochsner Clinic Foundation of suburban New Orleans recognized Dr. Pou "as a
volunteer medical officer at Baptist Memorial Hospital in the days
immediately after the Katrina destruction" while LSU chose to honor her for
her "tireless efforts as a mentor and teacher" in the Department of
Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.
Well earned praise for one of many healthcare professionals who chose to
serve those in the gravest of need during Katrina while most of the state¹s
politicians headed for higher, drier, safer ground!
