Biography of Dr. Anna Pou
Dr Anna Maria Pou, a native of New Orleans, received her medical degree from LSU School of Medicine. She then completed 2 years of General Surgery at the University of Tennessee and a residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
After her residency she received further speciality training in Head and Neck Oncology and Microvascular Reconstruction.
Following her fellowship she joined the faculty at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston where she remained until August, 2004. During her tenure there she was the Director, Division of Head and Neck Surgery.
Dr Pou returned home in September, 2004 where she is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. She spends her time taking care of patients with head and neck cancer, caring for the indigent and teaching residents.
