Testimonials
The following words and testimonies are from colleagues and former patients of Dr. Anna Pou:
This letter is a testament to the commitment and dedication of Dr. Pou to her patients. I had the opportunity to train under Dr. Pou as a resident at the University of Texas Medical branch for 2 years. Dr. Pou committed herself to her patients first and foremost. This meant that she put them ahead of her friends, ahead of her family, and ahead of herself.
She allowed patient care to disrupt her life in a way that we did not envy. On the flip side, she was the doctor we all wanted if we needed surgery. It was not uncommon to get e-mails from Dr. Pou about labs she was checking at home long after we were asleep.
Dr. Pou is a model of care and compassion. She has served as an ideal that I strive to achieve but likely never will. I have continued and will continue to support Dr. Pou and to refer patients to her clinics. They could be in no better hands.
Sincerely,
Jacques Peltier MD
Dear Dr. Pou,
I just wanted to let you know that my thoughts and prayers are with you as you are going through this very hard time right now. I am saddened and somewhat angry about how your heroic efforts during such a difficult time in New Orleans are being turned into something ugly.
You have always been one of the staff members at LSU whom I admired most, and even more so in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Taking care of those patients during a time of major crisis is something I'm not sure I could have done, and you did it so selflessly.

Dr. Pou always dealt with the whole patient, not just the medical problem. She spent endless hours counseling patients and their families to help them make difficult decisions about selecting the intervention that would give them the best quality of life. She is the strongest patient advocate I have ever worked with. I trust her ethics and judgment explicitly.
Sincerely,

I've not seen too many doctors so kind and considerate to her patients. There was nothing above her with her patients, from buying medicine to paying rent. She isn't only an excellent doctor, she truly cared about her patients, and us the staff who worked under her. She is a wonderful person, doctor and friend.

Dr. Anna Pou is by far one of the most dedicated, committed, compassionate people I have ever had the pleasure of being acquainted with. When diagnosed with a malignant tumor of the sinus cavity, and there was minimal hope of my survival, Dr. Anna Pou refused to give uphope. She was diligent, she was conscientious, and she was relentless. When I wanted to give up, she drew out the fight in me. She saved my life.
